Joseph L. McKelton is a native of Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Northwestern High School, in Detroit and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Livingstone College, Salisbury, NC. In 1992, he united with Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Norcross, GA, under the pastorate of Dr. William L. Papa Sheals.
In the spring of 1996, he accepted the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and was licensed in the fall. In that same year he was joyfully united in marriage with the former Carmen E. Farley. They are the proud parents of three lovely girls, Cayla, Janiah and Christa. In 2001 he received his certificate of ordination to the work of The Gospel Ministry.
In June 2002 he received a diploma in Biblical Studies from the Hopewell Bible Institute, under the seal of the International Bible Institute, Santa Fe Springs, CA. His educational goal is to obtain a Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Theology. In the winter of December of 2004, God called Minister McKelton to the office of Pastor for Central Missionary Baptist Church, Ellerslie GA.
Through his gift as a psalmist, the Lord birthed JLM Records, Inc., an independently owned record label. This record label released its first CD in 2002, entitled "Holy and Blessed." "Holy and Blessed" was amazingly successful and afforded Pastor McKelton the opportunity to minister in various churches across the country while utilizing the radio and television media to carry the message of love, hope and salvation in Jesus Christ.
His ministerial passions are to comfort the comfortless, clothe the naked, feed the hungry and house those devoid of an earthly and heavenly home. |
